L.A. Witch - Icicle

L.A. Witch is dropping their third album DOGGOD this Friday. On the last single “Icicle” band member Sade Sanchez says, “'Icicle' is our coldest song on this record, written during a very dark period in my life. The lyrics explore themes of purification through self-sacrifice. The icicle in this song is symbolic of a knife or dagger and also a bit crystal like, symbolic of spiritual journey. The monotone vocal tone was my attempt to sing like a mix of Frank Sinatra and Ian Curtis." L.A. Witch will embark on a US tour with support from DAIISTAR and Chokecherry.

CHIME OBLIVION - KISS HER OR BE HER

Newly formed group CHIME OBLIVION featuring John Dwyer (OSEES) and David Barbarossa (Bow Wow Wow/Adam and the Ants) will be releasing their self-titled debut album this month. Alongside Weasel Walter, Tom Dolas, H.L. Nelly and Brad Caulkins, the five-piece makes music "For fans of Adam & the Ants, Bow Wow Wow, Crass, The Slits and any other wierdo punk we fell in love with as youths." CHIME OBLIVION is out 4/18 via Deathgod.

Gardenia - I Miss You, Alexa

New York’s Gardenia explores a roommate’s absent love life on their latest single “I Miss You, Alexa.” As the band explains, “The track is about my roommate’s love-and-lost with a girlfriend who was never that into him in the first place. He would spend many nights pondering where she would be and she was likely not thinking the same at all. He gave us his blessing to write the song, so we ran with it.”

MRS - Ride

Sacramento post-grunge band MRS lean into distortion on their new song “Ride.” On the track, the band shares, “‘Ride’ is the first song we recorded with producer Alex Estrada (Glixen, Drug Church, Touché Amoré) and new guitarist Hunter Stewart. It tells the story of revenge and grief, disguised underneath happy melodies. It’s a song about taking back control, knowingly giving up your innocence in the process.” This is the band’s first single since their 2024 split EP Vs. with Shop Dog.

Dream Bodies - Eclipse

On “Eclipse” post-punk act Dream Bodies, the solo project of LA-based musician Steven Fleet, taps into the unknown. “It’s a song of mystery and magic, of being incarnated into a magical destiny but not yet fully understanding why or what’s happening,” Fleet explains. The song Fleet says, is about “Being chosen for something you don’t fully understand and aren’t ready for, yet you’re thrust into it and it’s happening.”
