MOP - Poison
Oakland indie rock project MOP, led by songwriter/vocalist Moira Brown, has released their debut album Secrets. On the lead track “Poison,” MOP fights their vices. “It’s about a relapse,” they explain. Secrets is out now on a limited-run cassette via Smoking Room.
Lip Critic - The Heart
New York noise punks Lip Critic have released a follow-up single to their Partisan Records debut. The anxiety-inducing “The Heart” features two drummers. Through its lyrics, the song uncovers what happens when we’re alone with our thoughts, as we attempt to piece together our Identity.
VENUS GRRRLS - Divine
Influenced by the riot grrl ethos, VENUS GRRRLS brings an edge to their alt-rock sound. On “Divine,” they take on the male gaze and flip it on its head. The five-piece Leeds band is headed out on tour supporting Sprints across the UK this upcoming April. Check out the music video for “Divine” here.
Speedrun - What He’s Used To
Speedrun, New York songwriter Nina Lüders’ solo project, has released their latest single “What He’s Used To.” As Speedrun explains in an Instagram post, “In this one, I narrate the story of a lost and enigmatic creature (known affectionately as “the f**kboy”), as he winds and wrestles his way through the chasmic streets of new york. Where will his escapades lead?” Speedrun’s debut EP love’s latest news is out soon.
Jaxyn Lethe - Techno Beats
On “Techno Beats,” Baltimore producer/artist Jaxyn Lethe gets nostalgic. The electronic production brings together a pulsating synth bass line and hovering synths. “‘Techno Beats' channels the deep love I have for a friend,” Lethe explains. Jaxyn Lethe’s debut EP I am I don't know is out on February 2nd.

Alternative metal band Eva released their debut album last month. The 10-track release pulls from influences ranging from post-grunge, shoegaze and nu metal. On ‘OPIA,’ the band–Austin “Auzzie” Schmitt (vocals, rhythm guitar), Moises “Moi” Richardson (guitar), Ethan Strobel (bass) and Jeff Gonzales–references Deftones, Chevelle, and Slipknot alongside video game music and nu gaze artists including Wisp and Slow Crush.
