“Every dog has her day.” New York indie rock artist Allie sings on her latest single. The track is off Allie’s upcoming full-length Every Dog. Allie produced and mixed the album herself, and it promises to be an introspective journey. Every Dog is out 9/27 on Anxiety Blanket Records.
The Veras - Davey Walking Round With The Sole Off His Shoe
UK indie rockers The Veras have released an ode to the underdogs “Davey Walking Round With The Sole Off His Shoe.” “It’s a shout out to all the unusual characters that you may find in any High Street who, for whatever reason, are considered outsiders,” the band explains. “They need championing as they are just like everyone else and want the best for themselves, but have been dealt a difficult hand.” The Veras’ new album Get It While You Can is out 9/13 on Spinout Nuggets.
Closebye - Lucky Number
On “Lucky Number,” the opening track on Closebye’s new album Hammer of My Own explores the thin line between good fortune and failure. “A lot of this album is about rebuilding,” says songwriter Jonah Paul Smith, “and this song, the opener of the album, places me sort of looking around at the wreckage and trying to figure out what happened.” Hammer of My Own is out now and is available on limited black vinyl on Bandcamp.
Bloococoon - Into the Sunset and Fade
On “Into the Sunset and Fade,” the third single off Bloococoon’s upcoming album, the Seattle shoegazers get reflective. The song is from the perspective of someone enwrapped in love before it all falls apart. Bloococoon is out 9/13 via Little Cloud Records.
Exit Party - Sun Lux
Exit Party’s debut single “Sun Lux” exemplifies the feelings of the “connection and nostalgia” they were going for. The San Diego dream pop band features members of Idlehands, My Iron Lung, and Downers. Exit Party has also released an accompanying sun-soaked video directed by Matthew Fitzpatrick. Watch now.
