deary - Selene

Dream pop/shoegaze duo deary is back with their new single “Selene.” The track is an ode to the Greek goddess Selene. As vocalist Dottie explains, “Selene is associated with the moon and re-birth. Our new material is all about transition and metamorphosis. I have a desire to return to a part of myself that I’ve lost or to discover the one buried deep under anxiety and shame. I look to Selene to guide the way.” Deary has announced UK run in November. Check out the dates on their Instagram.

Magic Wands - Hide

LA-based post-punk/shoegaze duo Magic Wands peeks out from dark corners on their single. “‘Hide’ is about getting lost in someone’s shadows and hiding yourself and feelings from others, even yourself,” the band says. Magic Wands will be playing Dark Summer Fest at Teragram Ballroom on 8/23.

Mint - Yoga Day

San Francisco’s Mint has released their new EP Dividing Lines. On “Yoga Day,” the band gets introspective. “‘Yoga Day’ is about looking inward,” the dream pop band explains. “It’s more or less the metaphysical idea of what you’re meant to be as a person.” Dividing Lines was recorded last year at Different Fur Studios.

Pink Breath of Heaven - The Wind is Calling

San Francisco’s Pink Breath of Heaven is dropping their debut album. On the second single “The Wind is Calling,” the psych gaze four-piece gets into the thick of it. “It features ideas of passion, lust, love, and being lost in it all,” the band says. Pink Breath of Heaven is currently raising money to help fund the album via Indiegogo. You can pitch in here.

Dear Dorrit - Mid June

Shoegazers Dear Dorrit have released their debut EP Bedroom Flood. The opening track “Mid June” explores our tendency to get tongue-tied. “‘Mid June’ nostalgically references the need to articulate the truth, but being unable to do so,” the Phoenix band offers. Bedroom Flood is out now and is available through Bandcamp.

Dantzic - Taste

“The song’s whatever the people want it to be, but deep down we know what it’s all about,” Dantzic says about “Taste.” The track is off the darkwave/post-punk band’s new EP The Solution (Extended Player). Now that it’s been released, the Manchester-based band has promised a new era.
