November 2024 Best Releases

Today is not Bandcamp Friday.

Welp, that sucks. Regardless, we’ve compiled a list of the best releases out in October. See the full list below!

Bandcamp Friday returns on December 6th.

Voyeur - Something Becomes You

The new EP from NY-based alternative rock band Voyeur is likely to end up on this year’s ‘best of’ lists. The band is set to tour the UK in November.

Stalled - Dust Inside a Dream

We’ve been following the Chicago post-punk band Stalled since they dropped their EP Contentment last year. Their debut album Dust Inside a Dream is the culmination of “over a year of writing, recording, scraping and screaming.” Last we checked, there were only three limited edition homedubbed cassettes left.

Chat Pile - Cool World

It’s easy to ignore that we’re on the edge of losing everything. On Cool World, the new album by Oklahoma City’s Chat Pile, the sludge band faces the impending doom. We pulled this lovely quote from the album’s press release “Dread has replaced the American dream.”

Blous3 - Synchronized Swimming

Sacramento’s Blous3 are making waves with their new album Synchronized Swimming. Promise that wasn’t meant to be a pun. ANYWAY, cassettes are out on one of our favorite indies Cherub Dream Records and CDs are out via Chris Records.

Shower Curtain - words from a wishing well

This album is all bangers! Seriously. If you’re not familiar with the Brooklyn shoegaze band, go see them on tour right now.

Leaving Time - Angel in the Sand

On their new album Angel in the Sand, the shoegaze band Leaving Time explores ideas such as war for profit (“Arm’s Length”) and accepting the ridiculousness of life (“Angel in the Sand”). In support of the album, which drops today, the band will be embarking on a US tour starting next week.

Sympathy Flowers - Through the Veil

This is the debut release from post-punk Oakland four-piece Sympathy Flowers. The 6-track EP is being released on cassette via Harshaura.

Dancer/Whisper Hiss - Split

Glasgow’s Dancer and Portland’s Whisper Hiss equally shine on their new split record. Each band contributed six songs. You can pick up the split on vinyl via HHBTM.
